The idea was based on using highly charged particles to fire a directed energy beam capable of destroying targets from a great distance. Tesla claimed that the weapon could make nations “impregnable” by stopping aircraft, artillery, and entire armies. There are no confirmed blueprints or working prototypes, and no military powers were able to prove that his technology existed. After his death, the FBI searched through his papers, but the investigation concluded that no functioning weapon was found – the theories live on primarily because of Tesla’s reputation and missing documents.
