Cryptozoology

Cryptozoology

Cryptozoology is the collective term for the study—generally considered a pseudoscience—of creatures from folklore and legend that have not been recognized or confirmed by mainstream science.

Cryptozoology is the study of unknown or undiscovered animals. Searching for unknown animals is not, in itself, considered pseudoscientific. New species are discovered on a regular basis, and while the discovery of large animals is extremely rare, the existence of a previously unknown species of wild bovine in Vietnam was confirmed as recently as 1992.
