Dyatlov Pass is the location where nine Russian hikers died in February 1959. The group was found scattered across the mountain after their tent had been cut open from the inside. Several had severe injuries, while others showed no obvious external injuries. The incident was investigated by Soviet authorities but remained without a clear explanation for a long time. Later investigations have pointed to extreme weather conditions and a possible avalanche, but all the details are still debated.
