In this episode Katie and Sam speak to ADHD advocate and pioneer Cynthia Hammer.
Cynthia was diagnosed with Inattentive ADHD in 1992 when she was 49 years old. She thought she was the only adult in the United States who had ADHD but quickly learned she wasn't alone.
Cynthia tells Katie and Sam how she managed the shame and loneliness after her diagnosis, set up her own support group and then became an advocate for people with ADHD.
Cynthia also talks about Find the ADHD Girls, a project to raise awareness about the early signs of ADHD in girls.
For anyone coming to terms with a diagnosis, wondering about a loved one or managing a web of ADHD in their family, this episode is full of insight from someone with years of experience.
